As part of the project ‘How to live healthy in digital times for media VET learners’, the School of Design, Graphics and Sustainable Building in Split hosted students from Gjovik videregaende school from Norway, RBZ Wirtschaft Kiel from Germany and Šola za oblikovanje from Slovenia accompanied by their teachers; Marianne Brattrud, Petter Michael Skretting, Matthias Kraski, Florian Keller, Aleš Forjan, Nadja Jager Popović, Renato Flis and Natalija Vozel came to visit us. Namely, it is an Erasmus+ project that brings together media technicians from four partner schools through joint work on the video production to educate and encourage healthy living.

The aim of the project is the cooperation and teamwork of students and teachers in the field of media and physical education through the creation of posters with exercises, educational video tutorials and promotion of exercise in school and outdoors as a way of preventing health difficulties that arise from working in the digital sector. Fluency in English is mandatory as well as vocational skills in creation of logos, posters and videos.

So far, the project has hosted three mobilities, namely student exchanges among participating countries. This way, students, media technicians, learn new skills through cooperation. That includes simple and precise exercises, which students can do daily in their future professions. Also, participants, while socialising make new friends, exchange ideas, communicate and above all bring the project-planned ideas to the final product. Teachers also had the opportunity to exchange experiences, and new teaching methods. During this project, all students did a lot of work that range from posters to educational video tutorials, to short feature films, all on the topic of healthy living in a digital environment.

During their stay in Split, the partners were introduced to a local game called ”picigin” and the students were happy to try it at the spot, on the Bacvice beach. The conclusion was that it was not as simple as it looked. The beach is a place where students were divided into international groups, collaborated, arranged the content of the videos and recorded the material they edited afterwards at the school. The result is four beautiful videos that were shown at the closing ceremony. The students also visited Diocletian’s Palace and  the traditional annual exhibition given by the School of Design, Graphics and Sustainable Building in the beautiful space of Prokultura – House of Languages and Culture next to Peristyle. The exhibition presents a cross-section of the last school year in the field of art and graphics, promotes the school magazine SLOG, which was awarded the best school magazine at the LiDRaNo (State review of literary, drama and creative writing). Also, the award-winning video at World Skills Croatia was shown at the exhibition.

The project has been successfully implemented and we are happy to announce the further cooperation and the next mobility in Germany.
